ah, the first squished squirrel of the blog. Came across this poor little fellow on Westlake drive, he looks as if he was only a few months old, and 2/3rds size of the big uns around here. All over before it really began, not much else to say here.

Pete, the Lizard
Welcome to Squished Squirrel Blog, a random collections of poor critters run over on the streets of Austin Texas.
first post: Pete the lizard
This is Pete the lizard, I named this guy about a week ago, as I saw him multiple times running across our street. I almost ran over him myself on 2 separate occasions. I stopped and let him know, if he were to keep playing in traffic, it probably wouldn't end well for him. Well, as you can see, Pete just had to keep crossing the road, and , well, it just didn't end so well for him. Perhaps he left a brood behind in some pile of rocks, or maybe this was the end of the line for his line. Evolved for thousands of years, and now it's just over.
Baby Hawk
Now here is something you don't see everyday, a run over hawk. Looks to be on the small side, just starting out his life.
There by the side of the road, it's a mouse, oh what a tasty lunch that will make, swooping in, silent, fast, deadly and then Whomp, hey where did that pickup truck come from?, ouch that hurt, I think I broke my left wing, having trouble moving, hey what's that sound? oh no, it's another...smush.
Meanwhile, the mouse just kept looking for seeds, unaware of its near death experience. Did you ever think about the near death experiences you may of had, yet been completely unaware of? no, exactly, because you didn't know you had them.
